Hummus!

I love hummus.
However, the store bought stuff is too salty and not very tasty.
So I got an easy hummus recipe from my sister's co-worker.
Azhar is from the middle-east so she knows all about hummus.
Here is the recipe she gave me.

Hummus:

2 cans garbanzo beans (chick peas) drained
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cumin
4-5 tablespoons tahini sauce (sesame seed paste)
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup of water (add more if needed)

Directions:
Mix all the ingredients into a food processor/ blender until it is all blended well; put into a container and pour a little bit of oil on top (traditional way) or mix in a little oil. Lastly, decorate top, I use a little cayenne pepper to give it some color.

I found that this recipe is a large batch so if you want less, cut it in half.
This recipe is kid friendly (not spicy).
If you want to switch it up a bit you can add fresh minced garlic instead of garlic powder. Also, you can add any kind of chopped spicy peppers to give it a little kick.

I found the tahini sauce at Albertson's in the peanut butter section. :)
